Beware the Cookie Monster!

    A small girl's scream pierced the silence. Annabeth watched from the kitchen as her daughter emerged, two large chocolate-chip cookies in hand, closely followed by Percy.
    "Raawr! Beware the Cookie Monster! I will eat your cookies! Give me some cookies!" Percy roared.
    "No Daddy! They are my cookies!" Zoe cried out in glee. She ran on her small legs, around the sofa and past Annabeth.
    "Cookie Monster will have your cookies!"
    The pastel pink dress disappeared down the hall and into the bedroom. Annabeth walked slowly to the hall when a giggle emerged. She smiled and walked into the scene of the crime. Percy had started tickling Zoe, trying to get the cookies out of her grasp. Annabeth joined in the fun, tickling Zoe as well.
    "Mommy! Daddy wants to eat my cookies!" Zoe gasped between giggles.
    "Well, they're yours, aren't they? We'll just have to teach Daddy to share and respect!" With that, Annabeth turned to Percy and threw him off-balance. They fell to the floor, inches away from each other. Percy forced his head up a bit, eliminating the distance between them.
    "How about we trade?" Percy negotiated.
    "I'm listening..."
    "I'll leave Zoe's cookies for ten of Mommy's kisses." Percy grinned.
    "Sounds like a deal to me."
